RECOMMENDATIONS FOR APPLICATION OF SUPERPLASTICAL "POLYPLAST SP-1"
  1. GENERAL PROVISIONS
1.1. These Recommendations regulate the use of the additive for concrete and solutions of the superplasticizer "POLIPLAST SP-1" (hereinafter referred to as the additive "POLIPLAST SP-1") in accordance with TU 5870-005-58042865-05. 1.2. In terms of its consumer properties, POLIPLAST SP-1 meets the requirements of GOST 24211 for plasticizing and water-cooled additives (superplasticizer and superconducting additive). 1.3. The "POLYPLAST SP-1" additive is a mixture of sodium salts of polymethylene naphthalenesulfonic acids of different molecular weight. The additive consists of two types: with nonstandard air entrainment and with the addition of an air suppressing component - with a reduced (normalized) air entrainment (type VP).
  1. AREA OF APPLICATION
2.1. Additive "Polyplast SP-1" can be used in the production of monolithic and prefabricated reinforced concrete products and structures of heavy, light and cellular concrete for the construction of various purposes: civil, industrial, transport, automobile, etc., including in the manufacture of products and constructions of drinking water supply systems. 2.2. The additive "POLYPLAST SP-1" is recommended for use in production:
  • Conventional concrete and prestressed structures from the classes of heavy concrete B15-B40 and high-strength heavy concrete grades B45 and above;
  • Lightweight concrete structures on porous aggregates of classes B 7.5 and above;
  • Constructions of fine-grained concrete of classes B10 and higher;
  • If it is necessary to use non-standard fillers (fine sands, etc.);
And:
  • For the construction of monolithic structures using tensile cement;
  • In the manufacture of monolithic and prefabricated structures from refractory concrete on portland cement, Portland cement slag and alumina cement;
  • High-strength concrete made of a highly mobile and cast mixture.
2.3. When applying heat treatment of prefabricated reinforced concrete structures with concrete with the addition of "POLIPLAST SP-1" it is recommended to conduct isothermal heating at a temperature not higher than 80 ° C. Further increase of TWD temperature can lead to loss of product strength. 2.4. Plasticization of concrete mixtures is recommended for use in heavily reinforced structures; in thin-walled structures; in constructions with complex configuration. 2.5. Reducing the amount of concrete mixes (reduction of water-cement ratio) is recommended to be used in reinforced concrete structures, which require special requirements for strength, waterproofness, frost resistance, corrosion resistance, etc. 2.6. When preparing structural lightweight concrete classes for compressive strength V7, 5-B40, it is recommended to use the additive "POLIPLAST SP-1" to increase the mobility of the concrete mix, increase the strength of concrete and reduce the consumption of cement. 2.7. In the production of cellular concrete products it is recommended to use the additive "POLIPLAST SP-1" in accordance with the requirements of GOST 25485 in order to increase the strength and frost resistance of concrete. 2.8. The additive "POLYPLAST SP-1" is allowed for use in concrete for vehicles (the conclusion of the CNIIS on the use of the additive "Polyplast SP-1" for the construction of a transport structure) and in the production of road concrete (Conclusion of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "ROSDORNII" Polyplast SP-1 "in road concretes). 2.9. The expediency of using the additive "Polyplast SP-1" is determined by the achievement of various technological indicators of the efficiency of production of ready-made concrete, reinforced concrete and reinforced concrete products and structures, erection of structures, as well as indicators of economic efficiency of their production and operation. 2.10. The additive "Polyplast SP-1" does not violate the passive state of the steel reinforcement in concrete (Conclusion of the NIIZhB about the effect of the additive "Polyplast SP-1" on the protective properties of concrete in relation to steel reinforcement).
  1. REQUIREMENTS TO MATERIAL
3.1. The additive "Polyplast SP-1" is available in the form of a water-soluble brown powder or an aqueous solution of dark brown color, the quality indicators of which must meet the requirements of TU 5870-005-58042865-05. 3.2. For the preparation of concretes with the additive "POLIPLAST SP-1" it is recommended to apply cements that meet the requirements of GOST 10178, GOST 31108, GOST 22266. The possibility of using plasticized cements is determined by preliminary tests in the laboratory. 3.3. It is not recommended to use hot cements (with a temperature above 40 ° C) because of their increased water demand, over-consumption of cement and rapid loss of mobility of the concrete (mortar) mixture. 3.4. As large aggregates for heavy concrete, materials that meet the requirements of GOST 26633, as well as GOST 10268, GOST 8267, should be used. 3.5. For lightweight concrete as a large aggregate should be used materials in accordance with GOST 9757 and GOST 25820. 3.6. As fine aggregates for heavy concretes it is recommended to use sands in accordance with GOST 8736. 3.7. Water used for the manufacture of concrete with the addition of "POLIPLAST SP-1" and for the care of them, must comply with GOST 23732.
  1. EFFICIENCY OF APPLICATION OF POLYPLAST SP-1
4.1. The use of the additive "POLIPLAST SP-1" allows achieving the following indicators:
  • increase the mobility of the concrete mixture from P1 to P5 without reducing the strength of concrete;
  • reduce the amount of mixing water from 21% or more (in equipotent mixtures);
  • Increase the final strength characteristics of concrete by 20% or more (in equidistant mixtures);
  • Reduce cement consumption by up to 22% (in equidistant mixtures) compared to the non-additive composition;
  • increase the adhesion of concrete to the embedded reinforcement and metal products by 1.5 to 1.6 times;
  • To obtain concrete with increased water resistance, frost resistance (in equidistant mixtures);
  • Reduce the time and energy costs for heat and moisture treatment of concrete;
  • Significantly reduce the time and energy costs for vibrating the concrete mix, and in some cases completely abandon it;
  • increase the turnover of forms.
4.2. Technological and economic efficiency of the use of the additive "POLIPLAST SP-1" in concrete mixtures in the manufacture of prefabricated reinforced concrete structures. In lightweight concrete, the additive "POLIPLAST SP-1" is used simultaneously with air entraining additives in order to reduce the water content of the concrete mix prepared on small porous aggregates with increased water demand. 4.4. In cellular concrete, the effectiveness of the additive "POLYPLAST SP-1" takes place when used as an astringent Portland cement and, to a lesser extent, mixed binder (Portland cement + lime), and as a silica component - fine-grained quartz sand.
  1. DESIGN AND SELECTION OF CONCRETE COMPOSITION WITH POLYPLAST SP-1 ADDITIVE
5.1. The choice of the composition of concrete with the additive "POLIPLAST SP-1" consists in adjusting the working composition of concrete without additives or in the formulations with additives applied in production, taking into account the objectives of maximum ensuring the required parameters of the concrete mixture and concrete. 5.2. Experienced mixes of concrete with the additive "Polyplast SP-1" should be prepared on the same aggregates and cement, which are taken in the calculation of the composition of concrete without additives. 5.3. Selection of the concrete should be made in accordance with GOST 27006 by any conventional method that meets the requirements of the project for the strength of concrete, mobility or stiffness of the mixture, the volume of air involved or other indicators, followed by its correction and the appointment of an optimal amount of additive. 5.4. The choice of the composition of concrete with the additive "POLIPLAST SP-1" should be carried out in laboratory conditions on dry fillers, while the water included in the additive "POLIPLAST SP-1" should be taken into account. 5.5. All the compositions of concrete selected in the laboratory and the modes of heat treatment of products and structures should be checked and, if necessary, adjusted in the production conditions. 5.6. With the use of the additive "POLIPLAST SP-1" to improve the technological characteristics and quality of lightweight concrete in the current production, the production composition is adopted as a basis and is adjusted depending on the purpose of the introduction. 5.7. When using additives for the manufacture of products made from structural and heat-insulating lightweight concrete, the decrease in the water-cement ratio causing an increase in concrete density must be compensated by an increase in the volume of entrained air, with a corresponding increase in the consumption of the air-entraining or pore-forming additive, so that the remaining components, the density and strength of the concrete remain unchanged. 5.8. When using the additive "POLIPLAST SP-1" to improve the technological characteristics and quality of cellular concrete, the production composition of concrete, selected according to the procedure given in the "Instruction for the manufacture of cellular concrete products" CH 277, is taken as the basis. 6. PREPARATION OF AQUEOUS SOLUTION OF ADDITIVES "POLYPLAST SP-1" 6.1. The additive "Polyplast SP-1" is supplied to consumers in the form of a water-soluble powder or an aqueous solution with a concentration of at least 32%. 6.2. In the production conditions, an aqueous solution of the working concentration is prepared from the dry or liquid form of the additive supplied. The working concentration is selected by the user, based on the requirements of the technology, the conditions of use and ease of use. 6.3. Prepare the additive solution preferably at a positive ambient temperature in thoroughly cleaned and washed containers, protected from precipitation. Dissolution should be carried out with stirring until a uniform product is obtained. 6.4. When preparing the working solution of the additive from the dry form, the following requirements should be observed: - for better dissolution, the additive should be dosed into water with vigorous stirring; - The optimum temperature for dissolution is 40оС-60оС; the density of the prepared solution must be determined at a liquid temperature of 20 ° C; when determining the density in other temperature ranges, it is necessary to bring this density to the density at a temperature of 20 ° C (Appendix B). 6.5. Table 2 shows the approximate dependence of the density of the aqueous solution of the additive "POLIPLAST SP-1" on its concentration (mass fraction of dry matter). Depending on the ratio of components within the requirements of TU 5870-005-58042865-05, the specific densities of the solution may differ slightly.   1. QUALITY MONITORING OF CONCRETE MIXTURES AND PRODUCTS FROM CONCRETE WITH ADDITIVE "POLYPLAST SP-1"
7.1. When implementing the quality control of each batch of the additive "POLYPLAST SP-1" follows:
  • visually evaluate the appearance of the additive;
  • compare the results of the acceptance test of this batch of additives, listed in the quality document, with the requirements of the specifications;
  • Experimentally check the density of the working solution of the additive.
7.2. When using the additive "POLIPLAST SP-1" in concrete technology, operational control of production should be carried out at the following stages of work:
  • When preparing a concrete mix, it is necessary to control the duration of agitation of the concrete mix, temperature, mobility, if necessary, air content;
  • transportation of high-mobility and cast concrete mixtures (with OC more than 15 cm) to the molding stations should be carried out by devices whose construction does not allow the leakage of cement milk and excludes delamination of the mixture, the number of overloads should be minimal;
  • When laying concrete mixes, it is necessary to control the vibration compaction parameters: duration, frequency and amplitude of the oscillations;
  • When concrete is hardened, the selected temperature and humidity regime should be monitored, and in hardened concrete its strength in the control cubes and other required quality indicators - frost resistance, water resistance, etc., as well as surface quality.
7.3. The test of the concrete mixture should be carried out in accordance with GOST 10181 15 minutes after sampling according to GOST 27006.
  1. DOSAGE AND STORAGE OF POLYPLAST SP-1 ADDITIVES
8.1. The recommended dosage range for the additive "POLIPLAST SP-1" is 0,4 - 0,8%, when 0,6-0,8% of the mass of binder in terms of dry substance is used as water-reducing additive. It is possible to expand the dosage range with mandatory testing of the effectiveness of the addition in accordance with the methods established in GOST 30459 with mandatory verification of the effectiveness of the addition of the additive in accordance with the methods established in GOST 30459. An example of calculating the amount of the additive introduced into the concrete mixture is given in Appendix A. 8.2. Dosage of the additive should be carried out with an accuracy of ± 2% of the calculated amount. For long-term storage as well as when using large volumes of the addition of a container with a solution, it is recommended to bubble periodically with compressed air. 8.3. The introduction of the additive "POLIPLAST SP-1" in liquid form in the composition of the concrete mixture is possible to produce: - Together with the calculated (for batch) amount of mixing water;
  • In the premixed concrete mixture with a part (10-20%) of the mixing water shortly before the end of the mixing. This method allows to obtain a greater plasticizing effect;
  • Fractional, with strict control of the amount of additive applied at the site of installation. This method allows increasing the time of preservation of the mobility of the concrete mixture.
8.4. It is possible to add the additive "POLYPLAST SP-1" to the composition of the concrete mixture in powder form, which is carried out together with the dry components provided they are thoroughly mixed together. 8.5. In the production of a concrete mixture, it is necessary to ensure the uniformity of the distribution of the additive in accordance with regulatory requirements. 8.6. The additive "Polyplast SP-1" in the form of an aqueous solution should be stored in closed containers at a temperature not lower than plus 10 ° С. In case of accidental cooling (freezing), the additive does not reduce its quality parameters, before use, the aqueous solution should be heated to a temperature above plus 10 ° C, thoroughly mixed until the sediment is completely dissolved and averaged. The additive in the form of a powder must be stored in the unopened packaging of the manufacturer on pallets in closed storage rooms. 8.7. Guarantee period of storage of the additive "POLIPLAST SP-1" in dry and liquid form - within 1 year from the date of manufacture. The quality of the additive is guaranteed provided all the requirements set out in clause 8.6 are met. 8.8. After the warranty period, the additive "POLYPLAST SP-1" should be tested for all standardized quality indicators and, if it meets the requirements of the current specifications, can be used in production.   SAFETY REQUIREMENTS FOR OPERATION WITH THE ADDITIVE "POLYPLAST SP-1" 9.1. The additive "Polyplast SP-1" is a moderately hazardous substance and refers to the 3rd hazard class in accordance with GOST 12.1.007. The additive does not form toxic compounds in the air and sewage. The introduction of additives into the concrete mix does not change the toxicological and hygienic characteristics of concrete. Hardened concrete with the addition of toxic substances in the air does not emit. 9.2. In the departments for the preparation of solutions of the additive "POLIPLAST SP-1" and concrete mixtures, it is necessary to provide for supply and exhaust ventilation. 9.3. Additive in the form of a powder is a fuel substance (self-ignition temperature of air suspension 615 ° C). In a room where work is carried out with the powder additive "POLIPLAST SP-1", it is not recommended to use open fire and conduct electric welding work. 9.4. The additive "Polyplast SP-1" has an irritating effect on the mucous membranes of the organs of vision, respiration and unprotected skin. When working with an additive, personal protective equipment should be used in accordance with GOST 12.4.103 and GOST 12.4.011. Workers engaged in the preparation of additive solutions should be provided, depending on the nature of the work performed, with special clothing, footwear and hand, eye and respiratory protection. 9.5. When using additives in concrete technology, the requirements of SNiP III-4-80, SNiP 12-03-99, GOST 24211 should be met.
